Studying a postgraduate degree, is a big decision and requires a significant investment of time and dedication, but holding such a qualification can support your career progression as you develop your understanding of the subject area and build your skills.
Whether you are thinking about progressing from an undergraduate degree on to a masters, or are looking to re-enter higher education after a gap in your studies, we recognise that many individuals may have existing commitments that need to be considered. These might be family-related commitments, or existing jobs.
With this in mind, at the Ulster University London and Birmingham branch campuses we have introduced an additional study option for students from the UK or EU to help support your aspirations and career goals.
All of our full-time courses that are taught at the London and Birmingham branch campuses are offered as daytime classes.
This study mode is available for all programmes and for all students.
When you study via this route, you will usually have classes on campus for 2 to 3 days a week (Monday to Friday). The exact days that you will have classes will always be confirmed when you are given your timetable at enrolment at the start of your academic year.
This study option will be best suited to you if you are one of the following:
You will be required to attend 12 hours of classes per week on campus, and an additional 20-30 hours of self-study per week. Your average week on campus may look like this:
Two evenings per week: 5:45pm – 8:30pm
One Saturday per week: 9:30am – 3:00pm
Courses that include evening and weekend study
There are many financing options available for you to fund your programme with. As an example; if you have a full-time job and are looking to expand your knowledge to support your current role, you may be able to ask your employer to contribute towards your tuition fees.
By studying evenings and weekends, you may still be eligible for a Postgraduate Loan which will be applied the same as studying any other of our programmes. The £10,609 Postgraduate Loan is available to UK and EU students, subject to eligibility. For more information and full terms and conditions, please visit www.gov/studentfinance

For both of these study options, you will receive the exact same level of student support throughout the duration of your programme, with the ability to balance your full-time studies around your personal life and commitments.
Ulster University will provide you with an opportunity to think outside the box and challenge yourself. Dedication and determination are the keys to success, but it’s the overall Ulster University experience and outstanding support that will provide you with the confidence and tools to succeed.
